Rwanda

Yvonne

Yvonne, a single Congolese mother, has lived in the Gihembe Refugee Camp in Rwanda for 15 years.  Nothing But Nets met Yvonne while she was helping care for her 6-year old son, “George,” who was suffering from a routine infection. A white bed net hung above George’s hospital bed, just like every bed in the clinic.

None of Yvonne's three children have had malaria.  Yvonne makes sure that her children have slept under a bed net since they were born.
“Every single night,” she said.

Life-saving nets that Nothing But Nets has sent to help refugees since 2008 are reaching families in the camps, and they’re using them. Now, we have parents whose children are growing up malaria-free!

Nothing But Nets in Rwanda

In 2013, Nothing But Nets lead a delegation of the WWE and the rock band DAWES to Rwanda to deliver bed nets to refugees, including those in the Gihembe Refugee Camp: home to 14,000 people.  Nothing But Nets has worked in Rwanda since 2009 and the 30,937 bed nets we have been able to provide have helped to reduce malaria cases by 75%.
